- When experiencing issues that are impacting your ability to move, drive or start the vehicle, there are a few steps you can take on your own that could help.
- Power down the truck with key in off position
- Activate the battery saver switch
- Open step fairing and turn off the main service disconnect switch under the cover
- Wait 10 minutes with switches powered down
- Power the unit up in reverse order
- Start engine and see if issue has gone away. If you still expereince issues, contact our technical suppport line at 215-799-3553
- Auto-start function: dash message appears briefly when activated. To activate, driver must be in the truck, key in the ignition, doors closed and remain closed. If the driver leaves the truck, auto-start will need to be re-engaged
- Battery charging: the best way to charge the batteries is through the sure power plug with an extension cord. Confirm charging by finding the battery icon on the inverter screen in the sidebox. It will display “Charging”
- Jump charging: 12V and 24V sysems can be complicated. Follow these simple steps to avoid damage and ensure efficient batery charging
- Over the air updates: technical updates are very important to the health of your truck systems. Check out the Driver Display Activation instructions, a key feature of remote programming
- Battery saver switch: use this any time the driver is away from the truck for more than 10 hours
- Keys and ECM communications: Leaving keys in the ignition will have a battery draw so it is very easy to kill batteries if not careful. Drivers must pull the key when leaving the truck for 10 hours or more
- Fluid check: with all the technology changes, it’s important to check all fluids. Use the OEM Driver Guides and labels for all recommended fluids
With new technology comes new triggers for fault codes and dashboard warning lights. The Driver Guide App includes a handy, interactive visual of the interior of your new truck, including switches, displays and all cab controls. It includes a detailed list of all display lights that indicate the specific device and a correct or defective condition.
Today’s warning lights follow a standardized color code system to help you visually evaluate the urgency and react accordingly.
- Red – Critical warning lights direct you to stop safely and immediately. Examples are the stop engine light, the brake system fault light, the engine coolant temperature symbol and the low oil pressure indicator light
- Amber – Cautionary lights draw your attention to a potential issue and suggest scheduling service soon. Examples are the check engine light, the DPF or Regen symbol, the ABS braking system light and the tire pressure indicator light
- Green/Blue – Status indicators that require no action, but are there to indicate an active system like cruise control, active driver assist, high beams and turn signals
