The Carlisle Bergey’s Truck Centers location has been a long-time partner of the Cumberland Perry Area Career & Technical Center and their Diesel Technology program. The relationship started some 25 years ago with Cumberland Truck Equipment which Bergey’s acquired in January 2022. We are proud to share that Cumberland Perry Area CTC recognized our Carlisle location as the Business Partner of the year for 2021-2022.
We are excited to be recognized by this great program. It is a win-win situation for the school and its students as much as it is for our business and workforce. We look forward to many more years of supporting the school's Diesel Tech program and watching those we are fortunate enough to hire grow within the Bergey's Truck Center family.
The school’s board of directors has some heavy criteria as part of their Business Partner selection process:
This has been a mutually beneficial relationship for both Bergey’s and the community. The Carlisle location typically provides interested students with job-shadows throughout the year, sharing a “day in the life” experience for them. Involvement with the co-op education program is a location-wide endeavor, providing students with access to the Mack and Volvo Dealer online training, hands-on technical maintenance and service training, and developing an understanding the industry and business environment of an OEM dealership. These aspects make the Cumberland Perry Area CTC students well prepared to enter the workforce upon graduation.
Bergey’s Truck Centers is family owned and operated, offering fifteen truck centers and eight truck parts locations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, in addition to a parts warehouse facility.
